Toyota Land Cruiser Fj: new amazing car

Toyota has unveiled its new Toyota Land Cruiser Fj, a compact off-road vehicle capable of tackling even the most demanding off-road terrain.

Its European launch was highly uncertain due to current anti-pollution regulations, further confirming the absurdity of these regulations.

Originally launched as the Toyota “Bj” in 1951, the “Land Cruiser” immediately demonstrated its off-road capabilities by reaching the sixth station of Mount Fuji in Japan, the final stage of a steep and challenging route that could only be continued on foot, overcoming numerous difficulties. The Toyota “Bj” was the first vehicle in history to achieve this feat, the first in a long series of extreme undertakings carried out while always ensuring the safety of its occupants.

Constantly developed and refined based on real-world use around the world, to date the Land Cruiser has achieved cumulative sales of over 12 million units in 190 countries and regions, actively contributing not only to global exploration but also to the livelihood of those who need a super-reliable vehicle for their activities and trade.

It’s no coincidence that it remains a flagship model for Toyota today, available in three distinct series: each one designed to meet very specific needs. The “300 Series” offers SUVs featuring the latest technology—luxurious, comfortable, and versatile vehicles—that give way to the “70 Series” when tackling the most extreme terrain and therefore requiring “Heavy-Duty” vehicles, ultra-reliable and easy to maintain.

Finally, the “Land Cruiser” model, launched in 2024, mediates between the luxury of the “300 Series” and the essentiality of the “70 Series,” presenting itself as a simple and robust vehicle that can satisfy the lifestyle and practical choices of any user. These vehicles are now joined by the new “Land Cruiser Fj” which retains all the best features of the “Land Cruisers” – reliability, durability and off-road performance – but offers them in more compact shapes and dimensions, also offering numerous customization options as well as ease of maintenance and repair, even allowing the bumpers to be replaced in segments in the event of damage.

Featuring a square yet attractively designed body, it accommodates its occupants in a spacious cabin with plenty of touch controls, so they can be operated even while wearing work gloves, and excellent all-round visibility, ensuring drivers can easily control where the wheels are going.

The car is also equipped with all the digital solutions designed to ensure safety during road travel, including a pre-collision safety system, but it also combines these solutions with those designed to facilitate off-road driving, particularly when overcoming the most extreme obstacles.

This capability is also ensured by the front and rear approach angles, wheel articulations, and ground clearances similar to those of the “Land Cruiser 70 Series,” and a “6 Super Ect” six-speed automatic transmission that operates through an all-wheel, selectable propulsion system.

It should be noted that the platform on which the new vehicle is built in Toyota’s Thai factories is the same, and therefore proven, one that underpins the “Hilux Champ” pick-up, marketed in Southeast Asia and South America, the two markets that will first see the commercial debut of the “Land Cruiser FJ.”

The engine, a two-liter, 700cc, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated “2Tr-Fe” series eight-cylinder engine, has also been thoroughly tested. It delivers 163 horsepower and 246 Newton-meters of torque, known not only for its reliability but also for its ease of maintenance.

The unit is based on 95 mm bore and stroke square cylinders that breathe through four valves per cylinder, actuated by a dual overhead camshaft with hydraulic tappets, integrating the Toyota “VVT-i” variable valve timing system. The distribution operates via a self-tensioning chain drive, the power supply is indirect, the base is made of cast iron and the head is made of aluminium.
