Tractor Landini 6-125 Rs: the courage to innovate

In economically challenging times like the present, it is common practice for manufacturers to hold back on investments and the launch of new machines — a prudent attitude, but one that does not reward growth and innovation.

For this reason, Landini has chosen a different path, preparing to face 2026 by expanding its product range and introducing an enhanced spare parts service

As previously reported, the Italian tractor market began showing signs of recovery at the end of June, a trend confirmed again by the end of July with a growth of about 4.5 percent. However, this recovery did not affect all manufacturers and all machine categories equally. About 50 percent of the increase was driven by the registration of compact, low-power tractors — often under 60 horsepower — mostly of Asian production. Traditional mid- and high-power tractors either stagnated or grew at a slower pace than the overall market, signaling that the tough period is not yet over.

In such conditions, manufacturers usually adopt a cautious approach toward corporate investments and product line expansions — choices that safeguard financial stability but do not foster brand development. For this reason, and to reaffirm the technological and operational significance of its machines, Landini has decided to take bold action and face the challenges of the 2026 market head-on — both by broadening its product offering and by strengthening and expanding its spare parts service.

The first of these initiatives — the 2026 product innovations — were previewed at the end of September with the presentation of the new Landini Series 6-125 RS, a medium-power farm tractor that combines the agility and dynamism of the Series 6H models with the advanced technological features of the more sophisticated Series 6RS range.

From the Series 6H, the new machine inherits its engine — a four-cylinder FPT Industrial F36 delivering 127 horsepower — and its general design layout. However, it can be equipped with two different robotized power-shift transmissions, the Robo-Four and the Robo-Six, both paired with an electrohydraulic shuttle featuring adjustable responsiveness. It also offers a highly capable hydraulic system with a flow rate of 47 + 120 liters per minute, surpassing the performance of both the Series 6H and Series 6RS models. The rear three-point hitch boasts a lifting capacity of over 7,200 kilograms.

Among the two transmissions, the Robo-Six stands out as the most significant. This six-step, four-range robotized power-shift transmission delivers driving and shifting experiences similar to those of continuously variable transmissions (CVTs). It integrates the Smart APS Auto PowerShift system, which automatically selects the most suitable gear during towing and transport operations based on load, speed, and engine rpm. Smart APS Auto PowerShift ensures that the optimal gear is always engaged, optimizing performance and fuel efficiency while maintaining comfortable and safe driving conditions.

Contributing further to ease of operation is the replacement of traditional gear levers with the SmartPilot+ multifunction “all-in-one” joystick — a proportional control unit integrating the management of the engine, transmission, PTO, hydraulics, and front loader, as well as headland management functions.

Equipped in this way, and with the possibility of managing up to five rear and three mid-mounted hydraulic distributors, the Series 6-125 RS also offers its operators a four-post cab with full visibility, mounted on a mechanical suspension system with a Panhard bar that prevents unwanted lateral oscillations without compromising the absorption of terrain-induced vibrations. The result is a level of comfort typical of a higher tractor class — further enhanced when the machine is equipped with a suspended front axle offering three levels of damping.

Like all Landini tractors, the Series 6-125 RS also supports the brand’s full suite of digital solutions. It is ISOBUS-ready for communication with compatible implements, can be equipped with GNSS-assisted satellite guidance through an antenna and monitor kit, and offers the Landini Fleet & Remote Diagnostics system for real-time remote monitoring of fuel consumption, telemetry, geofencing, and diagnostics. Meanwhile, the Landini Farm Management platform enables traceable and sustainable agronomic management through the use of prescription maps.
