Exactly 180 years ago, in 1844, Charles Goodyear filed the patent that allows for the vulcanization of natural rubber, making it elastic and durable. In 1898, the current Goodyear group was founded, whose division responsible for the production of agricultural tires has now merged with the Titan International group

In the agricultural tire sector, the Goodyear tire brand is certainly one of the few that can boast centuries-old history and experience, having been born in 1898 and having started its first tire production the following year.
In 1931, after having consolidated the presence of its products in all sectors of road transport, the company then launched the first agricultural tires, creating the Goodyear Farm Tires division, which since 2005 has gradually merged with the Titan International group, becoming an integral part of it and seeing the performance and durability prerogatives that were and still are today at the basis of every Goodyear product accentuated.
Whoever buys an “Optitrac”, the most famous product line of Goodyear Farm Tires, ultimately buys 180 years of history, the patent relating to rubber vulcanization filed by Charles Goodyear dates back to 1844, and more than 120 years of experience in the sector, the same that today allows the products to exhibit superior traction and durability combined with low energy absorption on the road and in the field and minimal soil compaction.
It is no coincidence that the logo of the House is a winged foot, a symbol of speed in the automotive field and lightness in the agricultural field, a quality that by protecting the grounds on which the tires work also protects company productivity. Even more so when the latter are used on valuable land such as that of the Italian wine-growing areas.

The unique nature of viticulture and the need to repeatedly run tractors and equipment along the rows means that the rows are particularly sensitive to soil compaction, a problem that Goodyear Farm Tires minimizes thanks to its “Lsw” (Low SideWall) technology, which allows it to work with inflation pressures up to 40 percent lower than those of standard tires and therefore with reduced compaction of the same amount. This is thanks to the larger rim diameter and a smaller sidewall compared to a conventional tire, dimensions that also give rise to superior flotation and better driveability on soft wet terrain, also playing to the benefit of comfort and stability.
The entire Goodyear Farm Tires range is made available in Italy by three distributors located in Perugia, Agrotyre, in Benevento, Dpm, and in Catania, Palmeri Pneumatici, and is structured in such a way as to be able to equip almost all agricultural machinery, leaving the Carlstar brand, which became part of Titan International in February 2024, the task of meeting the needs of outdoor equipment, sports vehicles, trailers and alternative equipment for agriculture and construction.
