The newly upgraded Jcb 435S wheel loader now sits at the top of the company’s agricultural range. Weighing in at 15 tonnes, it’s specifically designed for operations tied to biogas production and for contractors working with silage—thanks to enhanced performance standards focused on maximizing productivity

In modern agriculture, the pursuit of ever-greater productivity impacts all business operations. Among these, material handling has become increasingly strategic, especially with the growing importance of the bioenergy sector. These demands place heavy stress on machinery, which is why JCB engineers have recently updated their flagship agricultural wheel loader, the 435S, with the goal of offering greater performance to large-scale operations that rely on such machines for the heaviest silage and manure handling tasks.
To this end, the new 435S is powered by a 6-cylinder Cummins engine, with 6.7 liters of displacement, capable of delivering up to 282 horsepower—a 12% increase over the previous model. Stage V-compliant and electronically managed, the engine is fitted with a variable geometry turbocharger, enabling strong, steep torque curves even at low RPMs. This provides smooth, progressive responses, even under heavy workloads.
The machine delivers a maximum torque of 1,200 Nm, maintained consistently between 1,100 and 1,600 RPM, while the engine lowers its RPM under increasing load. To handle these improved outputs, JCB has also equipped the 435S with new ZF-derived axles, featuring four planetary gear reduction units in the final drive—replacing the previous generation’s three.
Fuel efficiency has also benefited from these upgrades. Thanks to a new torque converter capable of transmitting up to 25% more torque to the wheels, fuel consumption remains low regardless of the task. This upgrade is particularly valuable when using silage grabs, providing better traction and pulling power. The machine’s 6-speed powershift transmission (with three reverse gears) gains added operational flexibility through a new software package, allowing operators to lock the torque converter in any reverse gear and in the lowest three forward gears, tailoring power delivery to the toughest working conditions.

Combining direct mechanical drive, closely spaced gear ratios, and an improved power-to-weight ratio of 19 horsepower per tonne—one of the highest in its 15-tonne class—the 435S offers significantly higher pushing forces than standard models. When the job is less demanding, operators can also select a lower power mode (220 horsepower) to optimize fuel consumption even further.
All of this comes inside one of the most spacious and comfortable cabins in its class: the Command Plus cab. With excellent visibility and an intuitive control layout, all switches and auxiliary controls are positioned on the right-hand pillar for easy access. A high-resolution display allows operators to monitor and adjust all machine parameters.
For added customization, the cab can be upgraded with the Agri Pro package, which includes:
- 360-degree LED work lighting,
- Radio,
- Fire extinguisher,
- Lift cylinder safety support,
- Protective mesh cover to shield the engine air intake from chaff and straw fragments.
Precision Calibration

The updated JCB 435S can be optionally equipped with the IntelliWeigh load weighing system, factory-installed and covered under JCB’s official warranty. The system is easy to calibrate and can store different attachments. It records the weight of each load and number of loads per session, providing a total tonnage.
It supports both static and dynamic (on-the-move) weighing, and allows users to set a target countdown weight. This is especially useful for accurately loading feed rations, preventing overloading of trucks and trailers, or recording raw material volumes transferred into anaerobic digesters.
