Kubota “M6001 Utility” series: European focus

Kubota serie “M6001 Utility”

On the one hand, the development of new technologies aimed at the sustainability of agricultural activities, with the vision of the future of the sector which will be outlined in Osaka on the occasion of Expo 2025. On the other, the evolution of its commercial offer on all the main advanced markets.

Innovation at the service of the market

It is with this dual interpretation that the moves of the Kubota group can be interpreted in light of both the acquisitions of companies and start-ups dedicated to the design of precision farming and digital agriculture solutions, and the consolidation of its commercial activities in the Old Continent on the 50th anniversary of the arrival of the Japanese company in Europe. The latter market is traditionally dominated by medium-power multi-purpose tractors, vehicles which, thanks to their versatility of application, are almost never missing from the fleets of continental agricultural companies, acting as all-rounders within medium and small businesses. dimensions to then present themselves as real corporate entities in more structured organizations.

Five strategic models

Precisely for this reason, this year too a key role in the commercial ambitions of the Japanese Group in the Old Continent will be played by the “M6001 Utility” series, developed by Kubota technicians to connect the compact “M5002” company vehicles in a balanced way with the open fields of medium power “M6002” and for this reason divided into five models which are mainly oriented towards company maintenance and handling activities and forage applications, but which do not disdain use in open fields and towing on the road. In particular, the attack versions “M6-101 U” and “M6-111 U” look at the former by virtue of a wheelbase of two thousand and 440 millimeters and a ground mass of four thousand and 300 kilos which at the moment practical, it ensures that the machines have the maneuverability qualities that are essential to move easily even in the narrowest application areas, such as, for example, older stables.

Three structured versions

The latter are the more high-performance models “M6-121 U”, “M6-131 U” and “M6-141 U” which, thanks to wheelbases in the order of two thousand 685 millimeters and weights of four thousand 845 kilos, prove to be able to also cope with superficial soil work and the transport of medium-capacity trailers. Two subseries therefore arise which, although they share the same design philosophy and the presence of shared working groups, propose different mission profiles. A differentiation also made explicit by the choice made by Kubota technicians to equip the machines with two different engines, with the attack versions “M6-101 U” and “M6-111 U” powered by four-cylinder Kubota units “V3800-Tie5 ” of three liters and 800 cubic centimeters calibrated to 104 and 111 horsepower of maximum power. Also produced by Kubota and always with four cylinders are the engines that equip the more high-performance models “M6-121 U”, “M6-131 U” and “M6-141 U”, but in this case belonging to the “V6108-Tie5” series. ”, of six liters and 100 cubic centimetres, and capable of delivering maximum settings in the order of 123, 133 and 143 horsepower.

Torque curves always linear

Also common to both engines is stage V emissions, achieved through the simultaneous presence of EGR systems, SCR systems, particulate filters and DOC catalysts, and the presence of common rail fuel systems operating at high pressure, 800 bar, and distributions with four valves per cylinder, solutions which together contribute to ensuring linear and progressive torque curves which help to reduce fuel consumption.

Furthermore, the powershift transmission with three ranges and eight gears also contributes to the optimization of energy absorption, providing 24 forward and as many reverse ratios, which can be optionally raised to 32+32 by means of a super reducer operating on the low range and can also be managed in automatic mode. thanks to a dedicated control unit which regulates the ratios according to the conformation of the surfaces on which the tractor is called to work. The system actually downshifts within the selected range if unexpected resistance is encountered, and then re-engages the higher gears as soon as the application conditions make it possible. Performance is thus maximized as a function of varying loads and operating situations, while maneuvers in open fields are made more efficient by the presence of the “2Rm Auto” steering function which, through sensors placed on the front axle, delegates sole traction the propulsion of the tractor when turning at the end of the field, so as to minimize the turning radius as much as possible and, at the same time, preserve the soil from possible damage or compaction.

Up to 77 liters of oil per minute

Finally, the management of the equipment, even the most demanding ones in terms of hydraulic absorption, is managed by a hydraulic system of 71 or 77 liters per minute, respectively on the “M6-101 U” and “M6-111 U” attachment models and on the higher performance versions “M6-121 U”, “M6-131 U” and “M6-141 U”, group that powers up to four auxiliary distributors, the engagement of a power take-off with two working speeds, 540 and thousand revolutions per minute, and a rear lift which, again depending on the two subseries, offers maximum capacities in the order of five thousand and six thousand and 100 kilos.

Top ergonomics and comfort

Kubota serie “M6001 Utility”

As per Kubota tradition, the cabins that equip the “M6001 U” series were developed with the aim of guaranteeing users maximum on-board comfort. Indeed, the presence of pneumatic suspension seats, integral air conditioning systems and a console located to the right of the operator which groups together in a rational and ergonomic way all the main controls of the functional groups, from the power take-off to the distributors, up to the rear lift. Operational safety is ensured by large athermal panels which offer full visibility of the work area even when working with any front loaders, an activity which is also facilitated by the standard presence of an opening roof which allows precise control of the equipment at its maximum height.

Always up to par

Optionally equipped with a suspended front axle, the “M6001 U” medium utility vehicles are specially designed to support the “La 1955” and “La 2255” front loaders, both available in the double “Height” and “Power” version which offer capacity in order of one thousand 895 and one thousand 950 kilos, the first, and two thousand 137 and two thousand 212 kilos, the second. Common to both equipment is the possibility of assembling the quick coupling and release groups directly in the factory, so as to be perfectly integrated into the structure of the tractors, while their operational management is carried out by a multifunction lever installed near the console located to the right of the driver’s seat. guide.
