Azinet, the information archive of the Crea is coming soon

The information archive of Crea’s corporate and experimental activities, called Azinet, will soon be online.

The modular platform allows users to search and consult available information, both through multilevel maps and a dashboard of interactive reports

86 farms, 718 buildings, 832 systems, 1,359 machines, 76 crop types, 5,005 hectares of land, 3,100 hectares of agricultural land, and 2,000 heads of various livestock breeds, distributed across 17 regions and 66 municipalities. These, in a nutshell, are the “numbers” and data characterizing CREA’s field research, which will be collected, systematized, and made available in AZINET, the IT platform specifically developed by CREA and currently being implemented.

The Crea Azinet project

Azinet will be the information archive of CREA’s corporate and experimental activities, based primarily on the vast network of farms—over 80 throughout Italy—where crops, production techniques, and even advanced breeding research (NBT or TEA) are being tested, with specific applications in the olive and fruit sectors. Long-term experiments are maintained. Latest-generation agricultural machinery, product and process innovations, and advanced management solutions are tested. All in real-world settings (though varying in soil, climate, and crop conditions) that are representative of Italian agriculture.

The portal structure

The portal will include data and information—continuously updated and collected using standardized methods—relating to real estate assets (land, buildings, and structures), agricultural activities (crop distribution and livestock numbers), and existing infrastructure (facilities, machinery, and laboratories). It will be structured into a repository and a geodatabase with different access levels.

The platform will be modular to allow consultation of available information, both through multilevel maps containing georeferenced data and a dashboard composed of interactive reports on the cadastral data of the farms. A completely new feature is the Graphical Crop Plan, which will provide detailed information on land use for each plot—with data on macro-use, species, and cultivars—referring to individual farms.
