Modeling Case Ih: Jolly Roger style

Modeling Case Ih “Puma 230” model and Grazioli dumper by Walter Pettinari

Two models customized by a former tractor driver to recreate, on a 1:32 scale, the image of the worksite where he worked for years

Walter Pettinari is a former tractor driver who spent years transporting chopped material from the harvest fields to the farm trench. He drove a Case IH “Puma 230” customized with a black livery to match the color of the Ravizza dumper he accompanied. This worksite was made even more exclusive by the presence of a pirate flag, the famous “Jolly Roger,” on the cab.

A job and a construction site that remained close to Walter’s heart even when he decided to devote himself to other activities, to the point of making him occasionally return to lend a hand to the company where he had worked when the harvest season entered into force and on the condition that he always and only used the pirates’ Case Ih followed by the trusty Ravizza.

Walter then replicated the pairing on a 1:32 scale to keep on his office desk when he’s away from the fields. He created a replica based on a Case Ih “Puma 220 Black Edition” tractor model offered by Universal Hobbies and a Grazioli dumper model. In both cases, Walter completely dismantled the replicas, working specifically on the tractor to replace the Siko lift with a custom-built one and redoing the cab interior from scratch.

The Grazioli dumper was less demanding, transforming it into a Ravizza, a task completed with new decals. The final touch, of course, was the flag on the cab, created by embroidering real fabric.
