Agriculture 4.0: the italian market returns to growth

The Italian market for digital solutions is growing again as part of Agriculture 4.0.

The Italian market for digital solutions for agriculture is growing again. This is according to the 2025 report from the Smart Agrifood Observatory of the Polytechnic University of Milan, which highlights how, after a slowdown in 2024, investments in so-called Agriculture 4.0 have picked up again, bringing turnover to €2.5 billion last year, a nine percent increase year-on-year.

The growth, the report also notes, was driven primarily by software solutions, with management systems and decision support systems growing by 17 and 26 percent, respectively, compared to 2024.

Investments in connected machinery and telemetry and control solutions also continued to grow, albeit with less substantial growth, with annual increases of around two and three percent, respectively.
