European debut for the Versatile Nemesis: five mid-to-high horsepower models that, contrary to their name, aim to disrupt the balance of the European market through modern, field-proven technical solutions

In Greek mythology, Nemesis is the personification of distributive justice, punishing anything that exceeds proper measure and disturbs the order of the universe. It is therefore somewhat paradoxical that this naturally balancing force lends its name to the tractor series with which the Canadian company Versatile intends to shake up the European mid-to-high horsepower segment.
Following the transfer of the Versatile brand from Buhler to the Turkish Asko Group, the Canadian-built “Nemesis” tractors are ready to enter the Old Continent with the ambition of capturing significant market share. They rely on the strong appeal the North American brand enjoys among European operators, combined with thoroughly modern and proven technical solutions.
In this context, the five models in the “Nemesis” series—“175,” “195,” “210,” “235,” and “255”—are equipped with six-cylinder, 6.7-liter “B6.7” engines from Cummins, delivering maximum outputs ranging from 195 to 272 horsepower. Stage V compliance is achieved via SCR after-treatment systems for nitrogen oxide reduction, without the use of EGR systems.

These engines feature high-pressure common rail injection, four valves per cylinder, and variable-geometry turbochargers. Together, these technologies ensure smooth and progressive power delivery, with torque reserves ranging from 27 to 34 percent depending on the model. This allows the tractors to handle temporary peaks in power demand during demanding open-field operations while maintaining controlled fuel consumption.
Performance is further enhanced by two available transmissions: a powershift unit fitted as standard on the “175,” “195,” and “210” models, and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) on the “235” and “255” versions. The CVT can also be specified as an option on the 175-, 195-, and 210-hp models.

Both the powershift and CVT transmissions are supplied by ZF Friedrichshafen AG. The powershift operates with three robotized ranges combined with five gears, providing 30 forward and 15 reverse speeds thanks to the inclusion of a creeper gear. The CVT, meanwhile, combines a hydrostatic unit with an electronically controlled four-stage powershift module, continuously decoupling ground speed from throttle input and engine speed. This configuration also allows road travel at up to 50 km/h with the engine running at just 1,600 rpm.
With these configurations, the Versatile “Nemesis” tractors can optimize energy consumption according to operating conditions, even when using high-demand implements. Hydraulic functions are managed by a 120 l/min load-sensing system, optionally upgradeable to 160 l/min on the “175,” “195,” and “210” models and to 180 l/min on the “235” and “255.”

The system powers up to five auxiliary valves, a four-speed PTO (540 and 1,000 rpm in both standard and Eco modes), and a rear lift with a maximum capacity of 7,400 kg. Optionally, rear equipment can be complemented by a two-speed front PTO (1,000 rpm in standard and Eco versions) and a front hitch with a maximum lift capacity of 4,000 kg.

Even the most demanding combined operations can therefore be handled with ease, supported by a 7-inch touchscreen display that allows fingertip control of all main operating parameters. This is housed in a four-post cab, semi-actively suspended from the chassis and featuring nearly seven square meters of glass surface, ensuring full visibility around the working area.
