Now in its seventh year, the competition “Tractor driver of the year” organized by Trellerborg Tires to crown Italy’s most skilled agricultural operator has exceeded 50 participants, confirming its position as one of the most anticipated events in the industry

Begun seven years ago as a form of promotion, the Trelleborg Tires “Tractor Driver of the Year” event has gradually grown in terms of organization and participants, becoming one of the most anticipated events in the agricultural sector. This is confirmed by the over 50 applications received from all over Italy, a response from farmers, ranchers, and contractors that exceeded even the most optimistic expectations.
This forced the organizers to review the competition schedule and standards to prevent the last participants from competing after dark. It wouldn’t have been a problem since the Fendt “300 Vario Gen5”, “500 Vario Gen4” and “800 Vario Gen5” tractors provided by Fendt, the event’s technical partner, are equipped as standard with powerful work light batteries, but when a challenge is based on tests of precision, skill and adaptability, it is right that it is developed in the same weather and light conditions for all competitors.
As always, the drivers were challenged by four main tests: maneuvering, lifting, reversing, and trailer maneuvering, followed by a final field test. All tests highlighted the design and construction solutions developed by Trelleborg Tires to offer its customers exclusive, high-quality products.

The “ProgressiveTraction” technology, designed to maximize traction, reduce soil compaction, and optimize operating efficiency in all conditions, was particularly appreciated.
The podium
The grip demonstrated by the Italian tires combined with the steering precision of the Fendt “Vario” transmissions greatly improved the efficiency of the machines, so much so that all tests were completed in faster times than in previous editions. On the podium at the end of the day was an all-Lombard trio consisting of Alessandro Zanella, from Mantua, who placed third, Gianluca Cornale, from Brescia, in second place, and Francesco Coppe, from Milan, in first place.
